A well-known Long Island player and coach, Bertram Arthur, is successfully transforming Briarcliffe College into a competitive men’s basketball program. With Briarcliffe’s young two-year history with men’s basketball, Arthur has been part of the program since its birth in '04-'05 as an assistant. Inheriting the program in '05-'06 as a first-year head coach after going 7-21 overall, Arthur showed immediate improvement finishing 10-15, including a Tournament Championship at the Washington Bible College Tournament and a USCAA playoff berth. Arthur will be relying on returning point guard Chris Wells to run the show, along with forward Lamont Roberts who instantly became the heart and soul of the team as well as a fine group of recruited student athletes.
