The Briarcliffe Lacrosse team got off to a great start this year defeating Rider 16 - 0 in their first game. The team’s second game took them upstate to Elmira, NY. After a long trip, the Seahawks defeated Elmira’s JV 18 - 2. The next weekend saw the team traveling to the Army Prep school in Fort Monmouth, NJ. It was a tough fought game and ended in defeat by a score of 10 - 4.
The Seahawks began their conference schedule with Fordham University. Fordham, the eventual winner of the conference, got out to an early which wound up to be all they needed winning 12 - 5. Over the next four conference games, Briarcliffe battled to a 1 - 2 - 1 record. The two losses (Columbia and Hofstra) were by a combined total of only four goals.
The team worked hard all year and unfortunately did not qualify for the post season. The 2007 season will see Briarcliffe playing in the highly competitive NCLL before returning to Division II play in 2008.
